F.C. Tokyo 1 - 0 F.Marinos
Yokohama F.Marinos battled in the dismal playing conditions on Saturday as they started their 2010 League campaign at a very wet Ajinomoto Stadium.
In a hard fought contest where neither team could really open up their opponent's defence, the scoreboard finally got some use in the 91st minute when Hirayama Sota tapped in an opportunistic counter attack, courtesy of a speedy run down the right flank and cross in from ex-Marinos midfielder, Ishikawa Naohiro.
Sadly for the traveling F.Marinos, the deficit proved almost impossible to pull back as the clock ticked down leaving Yokohama, and newly appointed coach, Kimura Kazushi without any points in their opening game of the 2010 season.
Coach Kimura, taking the helm of his new team for the first time, clearly wasn't impressed with the performance. Upon being asked what percentage of the game went to plan, he quickly replied "I don't know but it would have to be pretty low. There wasn't a single moment in the game that I found interesting"
No doubt coach Kimura will have plenty to think about ahead of the first home game of the season on Saturday when Yokohama face newly promoted Shonan Bellmare...
Starting Lineups:
F.C. Tokyo: Kenta, Mukuhara, Morie, Konno, Nagatomo, Nakamura, Tokunaga, Hannyu, Matsushita, Suzuki and Hirayama.
Yokohama F.Marinos: Iikura, Fujita, Nakazawa, Ogura, Tanaka, Hyodo, Kanai, Kano, Yamase, Aria and Watanabe.

And yeah, that was quite a horrid match, but what a way to end it! Yokohama did seem to have the momentum for a lot of the game, you guys just didn’t have the luck that Niigata had in last season’s opening match of facing a rookie GK and an unstable defense.

Do you still hang out over at the RSN forum?
As for the game, yeah it was pretty bleak but I am confident that we can pick up some points in our next game…

Disappointed Marinos lost the match but can’t really grumble to much as both teams seemed to be struggling with the final ball and Ishikawa came on and showed how it was done.
Wasn’t too impressed with Marinos’ substitutions. I thought Kano was doing OK and the link up play went further down hill when he came off for Sakata.
